EXPERIENCED ELDER CARE GUIDANCE

Not Sure What to Do Next? I'll Help You Find the Right Path.

I'm William Young, founder of Elder Care Wise. For more than 17 years, I've helped families navigate the difficult and often overwhelming decisions that come with caring for an aging loved one. I'll personally take the time to understand your family's situation, help you determine the best path forward, and connect you with the right care, resources, and people along the way. You don't have to figure this out on your own.

HOW I CAN HELP

Every Family’s Situation Is Different.

Every family’s situation is different. Whether you’re trying to keep a loved one safely at home, considering assisted living or memory care, or facing difficult decisions about what comes next, I’ll help you understand your options and find a path forward that works for your loved one and your family.

WHEN THINGS CHANGE

WHEN THE ANSWER ISN'T SIMPLE

Sometimes the Hardest Part Isn’t Finding Care.

You may know something needs to change but have no idea how to make it happen. Maybe your parent refuses help. Your siblings don't agree. You're worried about how your family will afford care. Or you're carrying guilt about making a decision you never thought you'd have to make.

These are often the situations where families need me most. I'll help you work through the options, have the difficult conversations, and find a solution that respects your loved one while protecting their safety, dignity, and your relationship with them.

Mom refuses to leave her home.

What do I do?

How are we going to afford the care

Dad needs?

My siblings and I can't agree on

what's best for Mom.

How do I have this conversation without hurting my relationship with my parent?

I know Mom needs more help, but I feel guilty even considering assisted living.

Caring for Mom has taken over my life. I don't know how much longer I can do this.

You Don't Have to Have All the Answers.

That's where I come in. I'll take the time to understand what's happening with your loved one and your family - not just their care needs. Together, we'll work through the difficult decisions, conversations, family dynamics, and financial realities to find a path forward that feels right for everyone involved.

Sometimes the answer is bringing more support into the home. Sometimes it's assisted living or memory care. And sometimes the first step is simply helping your family get on the same page. My job isn't to push you toward a particular solution. It's to help you find the right one.

WHY FAMILIES TRUST WILLIAM

Experience You Can Trust. Guidance That Feels Personal.

For more than 17 years, I've dedicated my career to helping older adults and their families. My experience goes far beyond helping families find senior living — I understand elder care from nearly every side of the journey.

I've owned and operated a highly regarded residential memory care home for more than a decade, founded the RCFE Association to support assisted living and memory care providers throughout California, and built relationships with senior care professionals, community leaders, and state agencies across the industry.

That experience gives me something I believe is incredibly valuable to the families I serve: I know the system, I know the right questions to ask, and I know who to call when a family needs help.

But experience is only part of it. I've also navigated difficult elder care decisions within my own family. I understand that these decisions aren't just about care — they're about someone you love. That's why I approach every family with the same honesty, compassion, and personal attention I would want for my own.

HOW IT WORKS

Getting Help Doesn’t Have to Be Complicated.

1

LET'S

TALK

We'll start with a conversation about your loved one, what's happening, and what's concerning you most. I'll listen, ask questions, and help you begin making sense of the situation.

2

WE'LL FIND THE

RIGHT PATH

I'll help you understand your options and determine what makes the most sense for your loved one and your family - whether that's bringing support into the home, exploring care communities, or solving a more complicated care situation.

3

I'LL BE THERE TO HELP

MAKE IT HAPPEN

Once we know the direction, I’ll personally help put the plan into action. That may mean meeting with your loved one, attending a care meeting, advocating at a hospital or skilled nursing facility, coordinating with providers, or helping facilitate a difficult family conversation. Whatever the situation calls for, I’ll be there to help move things forward.

FAMILIES I’VE HELPED

Their Stories Say It Best.

Every family’s journey is different. Hear directly from families I’ve had the privilege of helping through some of the most difficult decisions they’ve faced.

Every family’s journey is different, but my goal is always the same—to make a difficult time feel a little less overwhelming and help families feel confident that they’re doing what’s best for someone they love.

A Different Approach

Sometimes You Just Need the

Right Person in Your Corner.

When something isn't working

Care is in place — but something simply isn't right.

Your loved one may already be receiving care at home or in a hospital, skilled nursing facility, or senior living community, but something isn't working. I'll step in to understand what's happening, advocate for your loved one, improve communication with the people involved, and help your family determine what needs to change.

When Circumstances Suddenly CHange

Things change fast. You need to figure out what comes next.

A hospitalization, sudden decline, change in care needs, or unexpected move can leave your family scrambling to make important decisions quickly. I'll help you understand what's changed, identify the options, coordinate the right resources, and put a plan in place to move things forward.

When The Challenge is personal

Sometimes it's not logistics. It's family.

Elder care decisions can bring out complicated emotions, disagreements, and difficult conversations. I'll help your family work through those challenges, build trust with your loved one, and find a path forward that respects their wishes while protecting their safety, dignity, and well-being.

My role is to understand the entire situation and help take some of that weight off your shoulders. Whether that means advocating at a hospital or skilled nursing facility, helping your loved one become more comfortable accepting care, addressing concerns with their current community, finding a more affordable option, coordinating resources, or helping your family make a difficult decision, I'll personally step in and help move things forward.

My Loyalty Is to Your Family.

My recommendations are based on what I genuinely believe is best for your loved one and your family. I'm not here to steer you toward a particular provider or outcome. My role is to help you understand your options, make informed decisions, and find the solution that truly fits your situation.

COMMON QUESTIONS

You May Still Have a Few Questions.

Every family’s situation is different, but here are answers to a few questions families often ask before we talk.

How do I know if Elder Care Wise can help with our situation?

You don't need to know exactly what kind of help you need before reaching out. Many families call me because they simply know something isn't working and they're not sure what to do next. Tell me what's happening with your loved one and your family, and I'll help you understand your options and determine the best path forward.

What kinds of situations can you help my family with?

I help with much more than finding an assisted living or memory care facility. I can help you keep a loved one safely at home, coordinate caregivers and other resources, advocate for better care or communication in a hospital or skilled nursing facility, work through family disagreements, navigate changes in care needs, or help when a current care situation is no longer working.

Sometimes the challenge is convincing Mom or Dad to accept help. Sometimes a care community is asking your loved one to move because their needs or behaviors have changed. Sometimes the cost of care has simply become too much. Whatever is happening, my role is to understand the bigger picture and help your family figure out what to do next.

Can you help me find the right care home or senior living community for my loved one?

Yes. Helping families find the right assisted living, memory care, or residential care home is an important part of what I do. I take the time to understand your loved one's care needs, personality, preferences, location, and budget, then help identify options I believe are the best fit.

Because of my years of experience and my role as President of the RCFE Association, I have relationships with owners, administrators, and senior care professionals throughout California. In many cases, I know the people behind the care homes and communities I'm recommending and have insight into their reputation, leadership, and approach to care that you simply can't get from an online search.

I'll help you compare your options, understand the true costs of care, and find the best care possible within your family's budget. When appropriate, I can also speak directly with owners or administrators about your loved one's situation and may be able to help negotiate rates or other costs on your family's behalf.

Will I work directly with William?

Yes. When you work with Elder Care Wise, you work directly with me. I'll personally get to know your loved one, your family, and what you're trying to accomplish. There isn't a call center or a rotating team of advisors—you'll have my direct involvement throughout the process.

Can you meet with my loved one in person?

Yes. When it would be helpful, I can meet with your loved one personally to get to know them, better understand their needs, and begin building trust and rapport.

I can also attend important care meetings, visit your loved one in a hospital or skilled nursing facility, meet with care providers, or be there for a difficult conversation. I don't just give families recommendations and send them on their way. When needed, I'll be there beside you to help put the plan into action.

What if my parent refuses help or doesn't want to move?

This is something I help families with often. For many older adults, accepting help or leaving a longtime home can feel like losing their independence. Simply telling Mom or Dad what they need to do usually isn't the best approach.

I'll take the time to understand their concerns, build trust, and help your family approach the conversation in a way that respects your loved one while still addressing their safety and care needs. Sometimes the first step isn't making a move—it's getting everyone comfortable enough to begin talking about what comes next.

What if my siblings and I don't agree about what Mom or Dad needs?

That's more common than you might think. Family members can look at the same situation very differently, especially when emotions, finances, distance, and family history are involved.

As someone outside the family, I can help everyone better understand your loved one's needs, the available options, and the realities of each choice. My goal isn't to take sides. It's to help your family have productive conversations and work toward a solution that puts your loved one first.

What if we're worried about how we're going to afford care?

Cost is an important part of almost every elder care decision, and there is often a solution—even when it may not seem like one at first. I'll help you understand what different care options actually cost and explore solutions that make sense for both your loved one's needs and your family's financial situation.

That may include finding ways to make care at home more affordable, identifying a lower-cost care community, exploring government programs and other benefits your loved one may qualify for, or speaking directly with a provider about rates and costs.

Unfortunately, many of these solutions aren't something you can simply Google. Elder care can be a complicated system, and knowing which programs exist, who to call, what questions to ask, and how to navigate the process can make all the difference. I've spent years learning how this system works, and I'll help your family understand the options that may be available and how to pursue them.

Do you receive referral fees from care providers?

In some situations, Elder Care Wise may receive a referral fee from a senior care provider when I help a family find care. I also regularly recommend providers, services, and solutions from which I receive no compensation.

Whether a referral fee is available or not, my recommendation is based on what I genuinely believe is the best fit for your loved one and your family. My loyalty is to your family.

How much does it cost to work with you?

Every family's situation is different, so I offer several levels of support depending on what you need. Some families simply need a one-time consultation to talk through their situation, understand their options, and determine what to do next. Others need me more personally involved for a period of time to help navigate a more complicated situation.

I offer one-time consultations as well as short-term, 30-day, and longer-term support options for families who want me available as an ongoing advisor and advocate.

Our initial conversation is complimentary. I'll take the time to understand what's happening, explain how I may be able to help, and if I believe my consulting services would be beneficial, I'll go over the options and costs with you before you make any decision.

What areas do you serve?

I'm based in Orange County and work personally with families throughout Southern California. I also have relationships with senior care providers and professionals throughout California and can often help families outside my immediate area depending on their situation.

You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone.

Whatever your family is facing, the first step is simply having a conversation. Tell me what's happening, what you're concerned about, and where you feel stuck. I'll listen, ask questions, and help you begin figuring out what comes next.

No pressure. Just a conversation about what's happening and how I may be able to help.
